Originally ITC was formed in 1996 to deliver Electrical Testing services to the many pit villages which were prominent around the companies office within Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire. We are now proud to service clients nationwide.

Today the company still employs staff who have been here almost since its inception and also carry out works for customers from the same time.

Between them, the present owners have the technical knowledge and business understanding to fully appreciate what is required from their customers and how to deliver service in an efficient and cost-effective manner with an emphasis on quality of both materials used and works carried out.

The owner’s ethos is very simple; “if we don’t deliver what we say we can, then we know there will be a competitor who believes that they can” and so to them there should be no reason why their company is not the first one to call for any works which may be required from their customers.


Our Team.

Ian Bennett
Director

Ian has achieved the highest of academic levels within the field of electrical engineering. He holds MSc in electrical engineering qualifications and is the primary “go to” person when an engineer is faced with a technical challenge. He joined the company in 2003 after a successful time working as Senior Electrical Engineer with Bassetlaw District Council.
Outside work Ian is a devoted Grandad enjoying long weekends away with grandchildren when the opportunity presents itself but without doubt his overriding passion after family is Sheffield Wednesday FC having not missed a game home or away for many a year and can be found on the stands “voicing his passion” at every game.

Robbie Hirst
Operations Director

Robbie started his electrical engineering career with ITC in 2004 as an apprentice. He decided that he wanted to develop his breadth of knowledge of the industry from not only a contractor perspective but also from the “other side of the desk” in procurement of electrical contracting services. As a result of his time spent learning the skills of an electrical engineer and understanding what differentiates a good contracting company from others, he was invited back to join ITC as Operations Manager. Bringing his broad industry experience and implementing the skills and systems learned into the company meant that very quickly his value was recognised by Ian and Tim and as such he was offered a Directorship and shares within the company. Outside of work, Robbie lives a very busy lifestyle. As father to 4 children he enjoys spending as much time as possible with his family and dogs in many outdoor pursuits including cycling and running. Robbie coaches two local junior football teams, for whom 2 of his children play and who ITC are proud to have association through sponsorship.

Sara Roy
ITC Planning & Admin

Sara is the longest serving member of the office based staff at ITC. Originally joining soon after leaving school she has seen the company go through many changes in the 20 years of loyal service. She has played a major role across many positions within the company over this time and now heads up the management of the Fire Division as well as other organisational tasks and is a most highly regarded member of the team. Originally from the village where the company was formed, Sara has since moved away to live and now enjoys trips to Scotland and other parts of the UK at any possible opportunity with her partner on the back of his motorbike. She is the devoted owner of “Brodie” her beloved Beagle with whom she regularly enjoys long walks.

Paul Newberry
Qualifying Supervisor
Paul is another long standing member of the team at ITC. His role is to ensure that all works are carried out to exacting standards and it is his responsibility to allocate the works to engineers, oversee the works through to completion and sign off once completed.

Paul has an excellent knowledge base of all aspects of the services delivered and is a much valued team player.
