Choosing between tethered and untethered.
Tethered connector.
A tethered electric vehicle charge point comes with a 4.7m lead and a suitable docking socket, so you can plug the charging point directly into your car – much like using fuel pumps at your filling station.
What’s more, charging is done 3 times faster than with a 3-pin plug. So, just plug in, charge and drive! The leads can be of type 1 or type 2 depending on the make or model of your vehicle.
Untethered connector.
Universal sockets are compatible with electric vehicles of all makes and models, including the hybrid vehicles available in the UK. They do not come with a cable and require the use of a lead that comes with your electric or hybrid vehicle.
These charging points are future proof and offer flexible options that also look clean and sleek against any building. They are low-cost and robust vehicle charging points suitable for both domestic and commercial use.
